Beginning Beekeeping Classes

 

Beginning Beekeeping : a series of 2 classes for people interested in learning how to raise honey bees as a hobby

 March 1st (Saturday) and 8th (Saturday), 10:00 am to 2:30 pm (includes a 30 min lunch break)

In-person at Eastern Washington University, Pence Union Bldg (PUB), Room 321/323
Cheney, WA 99004

Remote classes via Zoom.

Registration includes a Washington State Beekeepers Association Beginning Beekeeper Manual,  one year membership in the West Plains Beekeepers and, upon successful completion of the course,  a one year membership in the Washington State Beekeepers Association .

   Hands-on classes at WPBA apiary included in price of class TBA

Fee for one person including one manual, one WASBA certification test, and a year's membership upon successful completion  is $50.                  

Fee for each additional family member without WASBA membership, certification or manual is $10.

Apprentice Class:  Intended for beekeepers who have taken the Beginning Beekeeper Class, have kept bees for a year, and who want more information on how to successfully manage their hives.  The class will also include Anaphylaxis Training.

 

The class will be offered in two sessions and can be taken in-person or remotely.  Class dates are March 22 (Saturday) from 9:30 to 2:30 and March 29 (Saturday) from 9:30 to 2:30.  In-person classes will be held at the Eastern Washington University, Pence Union Building, Rm 317, Cheney, WA 99004.  Remote classes will be held via Zoom

Registration includes a Washington State Beekeepers Association Apprentice Manual,  one year membership in the West Plains Beekeepers and, upon successful completion of the course,  WASBA Apprentice certification and a one year membership in the Washington State Beekeepers Association .
